Introduction

MOD have recognised a series of 'Hard Problems' that impact their ability to effectively acquire and maintain military software systems. The SSEI uses the 'Hard Problems' to focus the applied research programme. Engagement with the SSEI research programme is through quarterly Special Interest Group (SIG) meetings. These draw together strongly related tasks, enabling MOD and other SSEI members to engage most effectively in the programme.
